Our Care Team
The Center for Joint Replacement provides community education and prevention, outstanding clinical care, state-of-the-art technology, and innovative care delivery models to patients undergoing joint replacement from Northern New England. The care team, under the leadership of a physician medical director, and a dedicated administrator, strive to optimize clinical outcomes in a patient and family-centered model, enhancing patient satisfaction, supporting clinical research, and ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective care to all they serve.
A team of specially trained nurses will provide direct care and coordinate the care provided by the multidisciplinary team. Services include:
Low patient to staff ratio
Self-care/health promotion education
Pain and symptom management
Multidisciplinary team of physicians, physical and occupational therapists, nurses and case managers help patients and their families following surgery. A full range of exercise and therapeutic equipment is available to help gain mobility and highest level of independence. A wellness model is utilized. Patients will be expected to dress in street clothes (comfortable clothing versus "johnnies") and perform activities of daily living with minimal assistance. Opportunities for recreation and diversion will be available on the unit.
