Plastic and reconstructive surgery is concerned with the restoration of normal appearance and/or the desire to achieve cosmetic improvements. Plastic surgery deals with the healing, reconstruction, restoration of function, and correction of disfigurement or scarring resulting from trauma or acquired or congenital defects.
