Led by one of the most experienced surgeons in Maine, a number of innovations in our Center ensure this surgery is convenient for you, your family and caregivers.

  • Dedicated nursing staff with joint replacement experience
  • All patient rooms will have wireless internet access; television and radio
  • Environmentally-friendly materials on unit; LEED Certified
  • Point of care services for lab, imaging and in-patient physical and occupational therapy
  • Patient and family education regarding what to expect before, during, and after their surgery
  • Patient specific follow-up care
  • Continuous communication with primary care physician
Educational Support Program

  • Begins in the physician's office
  • Geared towards providing patients and their families with a comprehensive patient and specific educational plan
  • Reinforced during hospital stay and after discharge
  • Caregivers in the orthopaedist's office, all hospital areas and primary care offices all share access to same patient educational material and are part of a comprehensive patient and family-centered care process

 

Continuum of Carecjr-staff

  • Care Coordinator coordinates and streamlines the patient/family surgical and rehab experience
  • Participates in a community prevention and wellness program
  • Pre-admission program includes screening for surgically appropriate (utilizing joint center criteria) and prior authorization for reimbursement.
  • Therapy services available
  • Home Care/Skilled Nursing, Acute Rehab or Long-Term Rehab Services available
