St. Mary's Center for Joint Replacement is the State of Maine's only program dedicated to changing people's lives through the process of joint replacement. Led by one of the most experienced surgeons in Maine, a number of innovations in our Center ensure this surgery is convenient for you, your family and caregivers.

• Point of care services for lab, imaging and in-patient physical and occupational therapy
• Patient and family education regarding what to expect before, during, and after their surgery
• Patient specific follow-up care
• Continuous communication with primary care physician

• Geared towards providing patients and their families with a comprehensive patient and specific educational plan
• Reinforced during hospital stay and after discharge
• Caregivers in the orthopaedist's office, all hospital areas and primary care offices all share access to same patient educational material and are part of a comprehensive patient and family-centered care process

Continuum of Care

• Care Coordinator coordinates and streamlines the patient/family surgical and rehab experience
• Participates in a community prevention and wellness program
• Pre-admission program includes screening for surgically appropriate (utilizing joint center criteria) and prior authorization for reimbursement.

• Home Care/Skilled Nursing, Acute Rehab or Long-Term Rehab Services available
