Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM (On-call emergency services after hours). All outpatient CAT Scans are to be scheduled through our central scheduling line at (207)777-4049.
The CT Scan Department offers a GE 16-slice lightspeed CT scanner capable of detecting a wide range of pathology throughout the body. The scan can be performed in either the axial plane or helical (spiral), which can then be reconstructed for a 3-dimentional image.

- IV Contrast: Patients 70 years old and up, and patients with high blood pressure or known renal disease will need a lab test to determine their creatinine level.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q- What is Oral Contrast?
A- Gastroview is the oral contrast (or dye) that is used to highlight the stomach and
intestines for abdominal CT Scanning exams. It is mixed with juice and needs to
be taken prior to the exam.
Q- What is IV Contrast?
A- Optiray is the IV contrast (or dye) that is used for exams that require having an IV
started at the procedure time. This is used to highlight the blood vessels and organs
in the chest and abdomen.
