Neurology Associates provides long-term EEG Monitoring? Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) is the only EMU in the region, one of three in the State of Maine.
The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center is a two-bed unit designed to evaluate, diagnose and precisely treat patients of all ages. Incorporating computer-based software with spike and seizure detection and using time-synchronized EEG tracing to audio and video recording, we can obtain results to develop an optimal treatment plan to improve the patient's quality of life. Our unit is staffed with well-trained and compassionate medical, nursing, and technical professionals.
