A Caring Tradition at St. Mary's Health System

Approximately 300 adult and junior volunteers comprise the volunteer staff at St. Mary's Health System. Our volunteers are ordinary people, just like you, with a desire to help others, a professional attitude, and a willingness to learn new things. The Volunteer Services Department recruits and coordinates all activities and projects through its Volunteer Program, offering flexible scheduling and a variety of opportunities.

Junior Volunteer Program

This is structured as a summer program primarily, although trained junior volunteers may choose to continue their volunteer work in the after-school program as well. New junior volunteer applications are accepted January 1 through May 1 every year. Interviews are held in May, and orientations and training starts in June. This program fills up quickly.

Application period for Junior Volunteers is from January 1 to May 1 each year.

After we have received your completed application, you will be contacted for an interview with the Director of Volunteer Services. Completed applications will be retained for 12 months for later follow-up if no immediate openings are available.

Every effort is made to fit a new volunteer to an area of interest based on hospital needs and volunteer skills and availability.
