The Adult Intensive Outpatient
Program is a therapeutic program that provides support, education
and counseling to people in need. We serve adults with major mental
illness diagnosis, including depression, bipolar and anxiety disorders
and adults with alcohol and drug dependence including prescription
drugs, cocaine and opiate abuse.
We Will:
* support you in a time of crisis;
* monitor medication adjustments;
* prevent hospitalizations;
* shorten hospital stays;
* ease transition from hospital;
* teach adults with a mental illness diagnosis successful ways of
coping with the
stress of daily life;
* give you a better understanding of what it means to have a mental
illness;
* give you an understanding of the disease process of addiction;
* educate you on the early recovery process;
* establish a strong 12 Step Program and connection in the recovery
community;
* help find community services and resources.
Staff
Our staff includes:
* Board Certified Psychiatrists
* Registered Nurse
* Master's level Clinician - both social workers and professional
counselors
* Board Certified Chaplain
* Recreation Therapist
* Unit Secretary
All of our dedicated staff
is devoted to the well-being of those we serve.
What does the program offer?
Our program hours are
Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m., depending on acuity and support. Clients generally stay in
the program from 4 to 5 weeks.
PROGRAM DAY:
The program includes:
* Group therapy
Process groups - encouraging
members to explore personal issues affecting their
ability to cope with daily living,
relationships, emotions and general well being.
* Education groups - covering a variety of topics,
including: stress management, self-esteem, communications, family
issues, relationships, goal setting, feelings, relapse prevention,
dual diagnosis, illness/medication issues, and many more;
Spirituality - our team
includes a Board Certified Chaplain who is available to help
individuals as well as providing
support through groups concerned with Higher
Power, loss, grief, forgiveness,
faith traditions, music therapy, and hope.
Recreation Therapy - utilizes
leisure education, therapy and recreation to help
patients make the most of their lives
- physically, mentally and emotionally.
* Family involvement through our Family Day - we
consider family, friends and other supports vital to health and
healing. We have a designated family day in which loved ones are
invited to join in the treatment. Additionally, family meetings
are scheduled on an individual basis;
* Dual Diagnosis / Co-Occurring illness treatment
;
* Psychiatric assessment and management by our
psychiatrist - our doctors meet with patients on a weekly basis.
Patients are given a chance to discuss their medications and receive
ongoing treatment;
* Relapse prevention planning;
* DEEP Certified
* Aftercare planning - Throughout the program,
appropriate supports are discussed and arranged. These may include
individual or family therapy, case management and / or medication
management.
