A Multi Media Program About Asthma for Preschool Children
Lucky the Lion Learns About Asthma is a new, five-part curriculum
designed for child care and preschool settings that uses stories, music, and art to convey basic
information about asthma.
Geared to children ages 3-5, the content focuses on how the lungs help us breathe; things that
can make asthma worse, such as pollen and smoke; what to do in the case of an asthma "flare";
and the importance of staying healthy.
Lucky the Lion Learns About Asthma is part of the AH! Asthma Health Program created by
MaineHealth and its partners and was written in accordance with the Maine Learning Results.
The curriculum "toolbox" contains a variety of activities to use in the
childcare and preschool
settings, including original songs, puppets,
coloring sheets, and discovery games. The
recommended teaching format
is to implement each of five 20-minute lesson plans over
the course of
one week.
All the materials you'll need are included with the curriculum kit!
