St. Mary's Sleep LabLocated in the Trolley Medical Arts Building, Lewiston 207-777-8959 Sleep...Who needs it!
Do you wake up feeling alert and refreshed? Are you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to face the day ahead? If so, then you are one of the lucky Americans who have the luxury of a good nights sleep. Approximately 70 million Americans do not experience that wonderful feeling. They suffer from sleep disorders that prevent them from getting restorative sleep. They live among us, tired. They work among us, tired. They share the roads with us, tired, suffering from the affects of chronic sleep deprivation. They experience difficulty concentrating on tasks that the well rested accomplish easily. They may walk around with dark circles under their eyes, doze off in meetings, have a blank stare at the TV or computer screen and drive with the windows down in cold weather. Some adults are suspected of being alcohol or drug users when fatigue is their real demon. They may be labeled as someone who doesn't care, is lazy and can't be depended on. Students in classrooms may fall asleep at their desk, have difficulty learning or act inappropriately in school settings. They may become labeled as “behavioral problems” and often the misconception is that the parents don't make these children go to bed early enough. So….sleep….who needs it? EVERYONE!
Sleep...Who cares? We at the St. Mary's Sleep Disorders Center are dedicated to improving the quality of sleep for all people who suffer with sleep disorders. We want every one to wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! If you or someone you know suffers from the effects of chronic sleep deprivation, help is available. Call us. We want you get a good nights sleep, every night.
