Hypnobirthing Cost: $90

A different approach to your birthing experience. 

A non-traditional method of managing labor through relaxation and visualization.

5 week series - 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Breastfeeding: The Art and Science Cost: Free
For expectant or new mothers and fathers; infants welcomed. Preparation for and what to expect with breastfeeding. Class includes:

· Anatomy and physiology of the breast
· Tips on making nursing easier
· Solving common breastfeeding problems
· Working and breastfeeding

One-day class - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Bootcamp for Dads Cost: Free

This class is for fathers only. Veteran dads will be
on hand to offer advice about baby care and helping with the needs of new mothers. Topics will include:

· Changing role of father
· Realities of parenting

Held at Advocates of Children

5:30 - 7:30 pm


Sibling Class Cost: Free

Becoming a big brother or sister is a special event.
This class is for children age 2 and older, to help them prepare for the transition. Children's topics include:

· Infant behavior
· Basic care and handling of baby
· Safety and feelings about baby
· Orientation to the Women's Health Pavilion Unit

Saturday class - 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Parenting and Bonding with your Baby Cost: Free

What does your baby need and want?

Come about the awareness and consciousness of your newborn and their amazing ability to communicate!  We will discuss general parenting issues:


· Managing crying
· Sleep issues
· Tips on bonding and attachment parenting
· Co-sleeping
· Feeding
· Skin care

One-day class - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Prepared Childbirth Cost: $90

These classes are for expectant parents any time
after the fourth month of pregnancy. They are
designed to prepare you for one of the most
important events of your life. The course will
include:

Introduction to Labor

  •  timing of contractions
  •  labor process
  •  when to come to hospital
  •  breathing / relaxation

Labor Preparation

  •  signs of labor vs false labor
  •  labor positions
  •  birthing methods / practices
  •  birth environment

Support Person Night

  •  birth plans
  •  comfort measures

Alternate Ways to Labor

Prepared Childbirth - Two Day Session Cost: $90

This one day class is a condensed, intense program based on our 6-week series for expectant parents in
the seventh month of pregnancy. It is designed to prepare you for one of the most important events
of your life. The course will include:

· Breathing and relaxation techniques
· Labor and delivery process
· Role of the support person
· Expectations and birth plan
· Caesarean birth
· Tour of the Women's Health Pavilion Birthing Unit

Fridays 6-8:30 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Infant Safety Cost: free

A course for new or expectant parents.
Learn how to:

· Prevent accidents
· Aid a choking infant

One-day class - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Infant CPR Cost: $10

A course for new or expectant parents. Learn how

to perform infant CPR.

This course does not provide certification.

One-day class - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Safe-sitter Class Cost: $40

"Better sitters today are better parents for tomorrow,"  is the theme of this 1-day class for ages 11 to 13.
Course covers:

· Caring for children
· Basic first aid and accident prevention
· The business of babysitting


One-day class:  8:30 am - 3:30 pm
