Mohamed Al-Saied, MBBCH, CCFP, FRCS(C), ABOS-I
Dr. Al-Saied is Fellowship trained in both total knee and hip replacement, and foot and ankle surgery. He also performs general orthopaedic surgeries and performs knee replacement surgery using the advanced Exactech GPS Guided Surgery System.

His medical degree was earned at Al-Fatah University, Tripoli, Libya. (The MBBCH is equivalent to an MD.) His general internship was performed at Al-Fatah University Hospital, Tripoli, Libya. Dr. Al-Saied’s Orthopaedic Residency took place at the University of Toronto, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He also completed specialized Clinical Fellowships for foot and ankle surgery, as well as hip and knee arthroplasty at Toronto Western Hospital which is connected to the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Al-Saied completed a second Clinical Fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, and has passed his American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Jeffrey Davila, MD

Dr. Davila is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and is the former Director of the White House Orthopaedic Clinic, Chairman of the Joint Surgical Optimization Council, and an Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant for the National Capitol Region.

Dr. Davila is Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery, and performed his Fellowship at the hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. He earned is medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. He holds an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Specialty Certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He was formally assigned to the professional sports teams of NY Knicks and NY Red Bulls.
Joseph Strauss, DO
Dr. Strauss offers experience and expertise in sports medicine and complex fracture orthopaedic care. He has served as Team Physician for the Bowie Baysox, Baltimore Orioles AA baseball team and recently moved to maine to join the team here at St. Mary's Center for Orthopaedics.

Dr. Strauss is Board Certified and Fellowship trained in Orthopaedic Traumatology with Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD with fellowship training at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland in Baltimore. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. Dr. Strauss is currently a Captain in the US Navy Reserves and former Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. During the last four years, Dr. Strauss was in private practice with Anne Arundel Orthopaedic Surgeons in Annapolis MD.
Lars Qvick, MD
Dr. Lars Qvick is experienced in hand and wrist surgery, including trauma and occupational injuries; surgery of the upper extremities (elbow and shoulder); and general orthopaedic trauma/fracture care.

Dr. Qvick is Fellowship trained in both hand and upper extremity surgery from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Dr. Qvick performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the State University of New York, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.
Daniel Buck, DPM
Podiatrist - Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Dr. Daniel Buck brings a valuable specialty in podiatry to the St. Mary’s Orthopaedic Team. As a member of the Orthopaedics team, he not only treats patients with a wide range of foot challenges, he also works closely with Dr. Mohamed Al Saied on complex foot and ankle problems that may require surgery.

His medical degree was earned at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. Dr. Buck completed his Residency requirements at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He is a Fellow of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Along with his medical degree, Dr. Buck has also earned a law degree from the University of Maine School of Law located in Portland, Maine.
He enjoys most types of outdoor endurance sports and has been part of many international mountain climbing expeditions. He is married to Dr. Marsha O’Rourke.

Walter Haines, PA-C
Walter Haines, PA-C, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from the University of Maine in Orono, and obtained his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of New England in Portland, ME. Walter’s clinical experiences include: Neurosurgery and Orthpaedic Surgery, Pulmonary Medicine and Primary Care.
He is certified with the State of Maine Physician Assistant and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Lynne Nichols, ANP-C
Lynne Nichols is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-C) and a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA). She is motivated by health care modalities that bring patients improved functionality and quality of life. She sees patients in the orthopedic clinic and assists in surgery.
Lynne received her Masters of Science at the University of Southern Maine. She previously practiced for 7 years as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Maine Medical Center and Mid Coast Hospital prior to returning for her advanced nursing degree.
Lynne is a member of both the Maine Nurse Practitioner's Association (MNPA) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Brittany is passionate about patient care. She followed this passion and obtained a Master of Science Physician Assistant degree from the University of New England in Portland, Maine. Brittany now assists in surgery, and cares for patients both in the hospital and office settings. She encourages patients to live more active and healthy lifestyles through her enthusiastic approach. Her knowledge base draws on clinical experiences acquired from medical centers in Maine and New Hampshire.
Brittany is an active member of the Maine Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Allie’s passion for helping others inspires her work as an orthopedic physician assistant. She spent two years as an orthopedic physician assistant at Cooley Dickinson Medical Group/Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in Hatfield, MA. Allie completed her Master of Science in physician Assistant studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Worcester. She has also worked as a softball instructor/strength and conditioning coach, and a hockey off-ice training coach. These additional experiences have offered valuable insights to providing even more compassionate care to her patients, whether they are engaging in competitive sports lifestyles or just enjoying casual walks.
Allie is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified in Basic Life Support.
David Enos received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Maine and has experience with a multitude of athletes ranging in skill levels from the NBA D-League to youth recreation programs. David provides preventative health care to patients in St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics and is the Head Athletic Trainer for Leavitt Area High School. David is passionate about wellness including strength and conditioning, functional movement patterns, and injury management.
Whitney Porter received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of New England and has worked with a wide variety of the athletic population from recreational sports all the way to the NBA D-League. She provides preventative health care for patients in the
orthopaedic office as well as athletic training services to Saint Dominic Academy. She is passionate about educating the active population about keeping their bodies fit and functional.
